Join us for Chapel Hill's only guided walking tours. "Old Chapel Hill Cemetery" tour is offered every Saturday at 10 a.m. starting from the gazebo.

"A Walk Down Franklin Street" leaves from the Horace Williams House every Sunday at 2 p.m.



Our Mission
Founded in 1972, the Preservation Society of Chapel Hill actively campaigns to save Chapel Hill's historic landmarks and cultural landscapes. Click here to read about some of our recent accomplishments.

Our Services
The Preservation Society of Chapel Hill offers a wide range of attractions & services. The Horace Williams House is available for weddings, receptions, meetings, & other special events where the quality of the surroundings is as important as the quality of the event. The Horace Williams House functions as a cultural arts facility for the performing and visual arts and is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM (some holidays excluded), and on Sundays from 1 PM to 4 PM. The art exhibits are free and are open to the public.
